Scott Kelby's style of writing is easy, comfortable to follow, and informative.
This three book set is excellent value for the money.
The books concentrate on using either Nikon or Canon DSLR cameras, but don't let this put you off if you don't have one of these, the techniques described apply to all levels of digital photography and is ideal for the beginner, and ideal for the more experienced person looking for a bit more clarity of how to do things. These books are not full of technical jargoneez they provide how to snippets for a massive variety of situations. I also happen to like Scott's quirky sense of humour which helps to make the books easier to read.

There are few better books on this subject out there, 2010-06-22
I bought the previous version, before I realised that PHP has moved on and a lot of that code is now deprecated. So I bought this version. It's lovely and concise, and covers real world uses of these two languages. I'd also reccomend the MySQL book that these guys do as well, and study them both, as the MySQL covered here is mainly an over-veiw, but is certainly enough to get the php application to interact with your databases. Definitely a book you need to own if you want to improve your PHP and MySQL. Top marks.

Great buy, 2010-08-01
As i am new to Digital photography, i bought this book because of its high customer reviews, and what a buy this was, not only does it teach you about the D5000 but also about digital photography (and film photography to some extent). If you a beginner or like me this book is an absolute must buy! Easy to understand but not "dumbed down". Thanks to the Author "Jeff Revell" who is obviously a great photographer (many high quality photo's in the book) for sharing his tips and knowledge with us.Also there is a Flikr photo group to join for users of this book (URL found on back of book) to upload there own photos taken with the D5000.

The Non-Designers Design Book, 2010-06-11
This book has been a joy to read, extremely helpful to me as a novice designer and easy to follow. It will stay at my side as a useful reference. It has been written with american humour which I have enjoyed.

If you can't attend a training course - buy this!, 2010-08-01
Absolutely brilliant, I simply do not have time to attend a training course but really need to get to grips with Aperture 3. This book and accompanying DVD allows me to do just that in my own time and at my own pace. It is well written/illustrated and I have finally begun learning in a coherent and logical way. After spending many weeks gathering disjointed and sometimes inaccurate information from the internet this is a welcome relief. If you have already paid for Aperture 3 then the small extra price for this book will really help you - worth every penny!

Excellent photo book, 2010-06-24
I have bought all three books in the series, these are excellent books, nicely presented and easy to read, I have picked up a lot of invaluable tips. There is a small degree of repetition in the books but otherwise they are the best photo books that I have come across. In comparison, other photo books are a jumble of text and pictures arranged haphazardly across the page which makes them hard to read and understand, Scott Kelby's books are like Apple Mac computers - uncluttered and elegant in their simplicity.

It felt like completing a college course, and I've since ordered the sequel, Advanced Music Production, which I'm really looking forward to getting into.
