Great for 2 pro size cameras, and takes another 4 lenses, lots of other zips for whatever you want to carry, a nice bag for your memory cards that you can attach.Its big and cumbersome to carry, but sturdy and protective of gear which is easy to access.

Reading other reviews, the only serious criticism of this bag is about its size. At £9.99 delivered to your door this product deserves 5 stars from all reviewers, as all agree it is really well constructed and superb value. Just take care in judging its size! The one photo on the product page isn't much help. The internal dimensions are 16cm x 9cm x 16cm. To give you an idea of this size, you can just about squeeze 5 standard DVD cases inside (with the dividers removed). It can just about hold a compact DSLR with standard kit zoom and a flash unit. It has been replaced in the Lowepro range by the Lowepro Nova 140 AW All Weather Shoulder Bag for Digital SLR - Black which is a TINY bit bigger inside (1cm in each dimension) and has a better all weather cover arrangement. It costs £22.43 on Amazon at the time of review. If you follow the link you can see that, unlike this product, there are 7 helpful photos on the page. Bear in mind that the Olympus DSLR and zoom lens shown are the smallest on the market. If you need a larger bag the Nova range continues upwards: Nova 160AW, Nova 170AW , Nova 180AW....

So far does what is says on the box. All camera controls are accessible without any drama including the battery compartment and lense release buttons. The fitting was straightforward but don't think about taking it off and on too much during its life. When fitted it draws a lot of attention from other users. Currently, I don't use the lense cover too much since it becomes difficult to stow the camera. No wear and tear seems apparent to date.

DSLR All Weather Camera Backpack, 2010-08-15
This a great piece of kit, holds a DSLR body and 4 / 5 lenses, battery pack / batteries, cleaning kit, media cards, notebooks, pens, waterproof jacket & trousers (lightweight like Lowepro ones and a gortex jacket), your laptop (which I would transport to my destination in it as it is padded and means everything goes in one bag), bottle of water (outside the pack). It is not too heavy until you add your tripod (i.e. giotto / manfrotto + head) via the external straps then it would be quite heavy for anyone planning a longer hike.
All in all a great price for an excellent piece of kit. I was advised to get a bigger pack by a friend who bought a few different ones and wished they had gone for this one first time round and saved a lot of money!
Very comfortable padded shoulder straps and additional waist belt make it a very good piece of kit. You can add on extra pieces of kit via Lowepro innovative strap system and it has an all weather cover which goes over the whole pack very quickly in the event of a sudden downpour. I've not had the need to yet, but it says it complies with hand luggage for flying (this wasn't high on my list of priorities).
Lowepro are a great brand and I have never had any problems with this brand and I have quite a lot of their products. Their products are hard wearing and last for years and no I don't work for them!

Fits Like a Glove - That's the Good News..., 2010-02-13
This is a fine, compact, sturdy bag with ample interior padding to protect your precious camera. Its holster-style, top-loading configuration is perfect for rapid access to your gear. My Nikon D200 (+ battery pack + Nikon 18-200mm zoom) goes in lens first leaving the rear of the camera uppermost in the bag (like a gun in a holster). This positioning enables a quick and easy draw-and-shoot motion without any hindrance whatsoever. I tend to leave the flaptop unzipped if I expect to be using the camera quite frequently.
The bag fits my camera like a glove, which is perfect. Unfortunately, this perfect fit leaves no room at all for even one extra lens. Try as I might, I could not fit an exta compact lens in the bag no matter how hard I tried. There are elasticated net slots and zippered storage pockets for media cards, paperwork, and other such small accessories, but that's about it. This bag is the perfect choice for photographic pursuits that require a minimal amount of gear. When I know precisely what I'll be shooting on any given outing, I simply transfer the essentials from my bigger Lowepro Slingshot 300AW to the more portable Toploader. No point in lugging around superfluous extras that only add needless weight to your task.

Excellent day bag, 2010-04-13
I have owned a Lowepro Slingshot 200AW for a few years but it saw only rare use because I always got a fair bit of pain from all the weight on one shoulder.

This bag has been the perfect replacement since it provides even better quick access to your camera (both sides of the bag), You can open up the whole bottom section for easy loading, and is more comfortable generaly practical. The fabric is tough and workmanship appears very good so far.

Because the padded sections unzip as they do you can make them flat, and once you take the camera section pads out you can fold the whole lot up and pop in your suitcase taking up very little room. Great for me as I can use my large bag to take camera kit plus book, phone etc on the plan and have a smaller day bag to use once on holiday!


Top section:
Loads of room, with a flexible fabric design allowing you to accomodate odd shaped items and handy pouches under the flap for whatever given additional room


Camera Section
Can just about hold 2 Canon XXd cameras with standard sized lenses attached (i had a 10-22mm & a 24-104mm on), with the lenses facing down and nearest the openings. This leaves a gap in the middle for a fairly copact spare lense.

This camera section could do with being just half an inch larger to make carrying 2 cameras (without grips still) easy rather than a bit of a squeeze, but it is a smart compact design.


Tripod
2 ways of storing
- strap it accross the bottom - straps are built in
- Strap it verticaly using the fabric rest at the bottom and bucked tap at the top
Both excellent, although the second better if you are in town and don't want to clobber people. All camera backpacks should have these features - not enough do!

Comfort & straps etc
A long day walking arround a city with 2 cameras, 3 lenses and 2 bottles of water and I was very happy - no tired back. Only downside is that the waist strap isn't padded - 2 small pads would really help here and reduce rubbing. Everything is adjustable of course so can accomodate most people i would think.


AW protection
Well, it is there and the cover is fine and stopped the rain I have been caught in BUT the cover is mounted at the bottom so when you try to hook it over the top of the bag it just slips back down as the straps are directly at the top - it can't loop over. This means a the very top gets a bit wet and after a while will seap down. I am going to sew a loop onto the cover at the top and use the tripod straps to hold it on.

Conclusion
I think this is one of the best camera bags on sale. It is perfect for amature and semi pro users who want something to carry their daily needs descreetly. It looks like a rucksack, not a camera bag, has alomost all the features you could want (padded waist strap please) and has enough room for 2 cameras or a good range of glass plus your lunch and a bit of shopping - brilliant!

THe Lowepro Transporter Strap is an excellent upgrade to the shoulder strap included with your camera. The big benefit is a free moving padded area on the strap that can move along the main strap. This padded section has a silicon print which grips your collar or Neck; the addition of the padding makes this far more comfortable on long walks than the straps provided with my Canon slrs. As with the Lowepro Transporter Camera Strap For Digital SLR there are fast release catches to let you remove the strap from your camera when you are using it on a tripod (or your desk). The catches are the same on both straps if you need two sets of them; as lowepro don't seem to sell them separately. On the strap is a Compact Flash memory case; as my cameras all use CF cards its quite handy as i always know there is a spare card on the strap; regardless of the camera -- and I don't need to open my bag to find it.

Its excellent value and a great upgrade if you tour with your slr.

As you know, there are hundreds of this type of camera bag/backpack on the market and buying something on the internet is always difficult when you can only see photos of the item and not the item itself. However, after many hours of searching for a camera bag to carry a Nikon D200 camera with a 300mm 2.8 lens attached, together with all the accessories, I decided to purchase this particular model. I was not disappointed and neither will you be if you decide on this one.

The backpack is strong, yet lightweight and is exceptionally well made.

As usual, delivery from Amazon was amazing - even to rural France.

I thoroughly recommend both Amazon and the Pro Runner 450AW.
