my opinion, 2009-01-07 This camcorder is one of the simplest out there, i enjoyed using it as you get told what to do as you sign on. The zoom is fun to use, and the sound amazed me as it was rather loud other than most camcorders. I really like this product and as it is small it fits in my pocket most of the time. I take it almost everywhere just incase i need a picture or video of an event. On the whole i enjoy using this camera even with my friends, and cant understand why anyone would hate it.

JVC GZ-MG330A - Fantasic Value, 2008-12-14 I bought this camcorder for our next family holiday and because the old one finally had its day. The reviews already posted were very useful and after a bit more research I decided to purchase.
It is very simple to use out of the box. Instructions are clear and the battery charge up time was not long (for the standard battery). The quality of the video is very good for home use from standard to ultra fine mode. The battery usage isn't fantasic but good enough for our purposes, i.e. about 30 mins to 1 hour use at a time. Its easy to view files from cam to PC. Please don't buy it for the camera option as the 1.3 MP is not that great and you'll get better pictures from your mobile phone. The camcorder is small (about the size of your hand) and compact.
By way of accessories, I have since bought a spare battery (standard again) which came as part of a starter kit and included a carry case. It also include a mini DV tape as the kit was for an older model. I also bought a Kingston 8GB micro SD card (class 4), which adds a bit more memory. If you are buying a memory card, don't forget to look out for the "class" rating - for video recording then class 4 or above is better due to transfer rates or something like that!
I paid £192 and I've seen the price increase since I bought it a few weeks ago, so look around before buying. The spare batteries do cost a fair bit so be prepared to pay around £40 (I got it with a starter kit which came with the bag)
Overall, a very good product and ideal for family use.

Fantastic earphones for the budget minded, 2008-11-10 I first bought a set of these headphones a year or two ago, and they have only just worn out despite thousands of hours of use. The secret is the high quality rubber-coated flexible cable which all good earphones come with nowadays. This coating allows you to bend, twist and coil the wire with virtually zero fatigue, giving the headphones an incredibly long lifespan. Another excellent feature of the cable is the length, which allows a reasonably tall person to listen without feeling any uneccesary tugging on their ears.
The ear plugs themselves are made of a durable, water resistant and sound-absorbing foam which becomes more malleable (squishy) as it warms up in your ear. This allows a very comfortable fit which moulds to your ear, but which will return to its original shape when not in use. Since the foam fits your ear canal perfectly, it excludes most outside noise and hence the quality sound is naturally increased. Even at very low volume settings (i rarely needed to set my Creative ZEN 4GB MP3 Player above 50%), these efficient headphones will provide the listener with clear sound, saving on valuable battery life! Fantastic value, and just as good as any £50 earphones i have tried too.

Should be called a Palmcorder!, 2008-11-18 This is a diamond of a product. it is compact, well designed and an absolute doddle to use. I've had mine for a few weeks now and I'm still discovering extra little features. The supplied software is okay but any purchaser with Vista might like to use the Microsoft Movie Maker and DVD Maker software as an alternative.
Battery life is very good. That's one massive advantage of the machine having no moving parts to power.
Picture quality is fine indoors with the powerful built in light (the settings of which can be changed at the press of a couple of buttons). it is outside where this camcorder shows its quality. Superb in my experience. The Dolby Digital Stereo sound is passable given the size and overall spec of the product.
If you purchase this camcorder do yourself a favour and seek out a carrycase because you'll certainly want to take it out and about. A small collapsable tripod would also be a boon for any amatuer directors out there.
I still cannot get over the compact design. It should be described as a palmcorder. Yet all the major controls are easily manageable, even for those with larger fingers. The pin sharp monitor screen is also clear with touch sensitive 'laserlight' controls.
Wish I'd bought one years ago.
PLEASE NOTE THAT AN SDHC MEMORY CARD IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE CAMCORDER BUT AMAZON HAVE THEM ON SALE.

Worth Every Penny, 2008-08-04 Turned up very quick & well packaged,
I was originally looking for a pioneer unit to replace my sony but saw this unit and thought this fits my requirements.
I removed my original sony unit (liked jumping when playing back) and installed the jvc unit using the exisiting sony wiring, its works fine but the balance and fader are the other way round (most probably the wiring compatibility) but not an issue, informative manual and extra iso (I think) wiring connector.
The electric ariel did not work, not sure if it's the jvc unit or the ariel died, as I am not going to use it I did not plug the other unit back in as a test
I think it has an eq onboard but I setup the old fashioned bass n treble way with the added loud turned on, its 24bit and the cd,usb & ipod playback are absolutely fantastic...its seriously loud no need for an amp.
I threw in a fat32 formatted usb tiny (short usb is better) flash drive packed with music into the covered slot at the front right, it automatically started to read, displays the name etc...it is simple to navigate (up n down, left n right) fast forwarding (not skipping) through 1 usb track is slow (slow but works) so I would be avoiding one of those all in 1 mix tracks albums if you like the end song.
My Ipod also connects via the usb (slow fast forwarding through 1 track) no need to turn the ipod on - great!
It displays a nice red glow at night, you can turn down the facia music display within the settings - I preferred the dimmed settings.
Removing and putting back the facia is a doddle, you get no carry case or steering remote with this model but I don't need either
It has a tiny aux input at the front right (i haven't used it)
I found it straight forward and perfect for what I needed, would I recommend it yes I would.
