I've now had this camera for a month. And in that time, I've had it here, there and everywhere with me. Its certainly waterproof as I've used it to video myself jumping off a pier and also whilst out on several Kayaking trips. This resulting in me having some spectacular pictures! So glad I bought my camera when I did as I had it for My Kayaking Symposium and also another Kayaking weekend afterwards. Also very glad at the fact that if my friend hadn't broke my other camera I'd never would have bought this one :)
Was Very Very fast to arrive, and all in all is a Brilliant Camera :)
Thank you

Average rating of 5/5 Excellent camera, great value, 2010-07-20
I took this camera on a swimming holiday and it was brilliant. I got some beautiful pictures of turtles and many more pictures underwater. Make sure you turn off the flash for underwater. It's easy to use, great fun and I can't fault it for such a good price. It's obviously not the most high tech/high spec camera you'll get, but you won't get one this small and compact for going underwater.
I wouldn't bother getting the pink hard case that I decided to buy with the camera. It wasn't really suitable and I ended up buying a better case in a camera shop.
I got the rubber sleeve that helps protect it and made it easier to hold underwater. I would also consider getting the float for with it as I was so afraid I'd drop the camera underwater and it'd fall very fast!
Again an excellent camera for underwater photography up to 3m, great for holidays or any snaps beside water.

  • Desinged to fit the F200EXR

Average rating of 5/5 Quality leather camera case., 2010-07-19
A quality leather camera case for my Fuji Finepix F70EXR. Fits onto most belts and magnetic clasp holds flap shut firmly - fortunately for me when I fitted it upside down on my belt once. It could have been a costly mistake had the camera dropped out! Very pleased.

Average rating of 5/5 Love it, 2010-06-17
At last, an affordable compact that makes taking pictures a pleasure! The wide-angle lens and macro function make you feel creative and the speedy shutdown is very useful when you're out and about.

Okay, it's a little on the heavy side and the menus aren't as intuitive as they could be. True, the ISO rating it chooses is often high, but the "F" menu does allow you to set a maximum ISO that it won't exceed. Yes, after making menu selections and then changing modes, you do sometimes find yourself accidentally taking 6 megapixel pictures when you assumed it was set to 12.

As other reviewers have said, don't push the battery life because the camera can shut down with the lens out. But actually the battery life isn't bad at all if you avoid "EXR Auto" mode and turn down the brightness of the display. (I've taken 600+ pictures at a time indoors.) Granted outdoors, on a sunny day, you do need to turn the brightness back up, and the thing I miss most then is a viewfinder.

However, I chose this camera for two good reasons: low-light shots are by far the best I've ever taken with a digital compact, and the miraculous "dynamic range" option does such a good job, preventing washed-out skies and murky shadows, it simply makes you want to get out there and start taking all those shots you had to give up on when you retired your old film camera.

When you want a really fine-grained and natural-looking result under mixed daylight conditions, Superia 200 is the ideal choice. Equally excellent for people shots, capturing skin tones naturally and beautifully, Superia 200 delivers an image sharpness that many 100 ISO films find hard to equal.

What can I say about a roll of film except it does what it is supposed to do and I was impressed with the speedy delivery, to explain briefly I came accross my Minolta film SLR camera and after looking at prices of DSLR cameras decided to get the 35mm camera working again, but it does feel old format compared to DSLR.

Average rating of 5/5 I Love This Camera, 2010-07-03
I wanted to buy a smaller digital camera for when I go on holiday - I have a Canon Digital SLR which I have taken on holiday in the past but I find it's just too bulky to lug around all day. I wanted a camera specifically with the following features - small size, ION battery (and not rechargeable AA batteries), no less than 10 megapixels, face recognition, panoramic photos.

After searching around I came across the Fuji Finepix J30 which ticked all of the boxes (and more) for me. Having only played around with it briefly it seems very well made and despite it's small size it seems to be of solid build. The large display screen on the back is great and it's very easy to take a great shot. The user menu is very intuitive - the same sort of menu as is standard on digital cameras - and it won't take you long to set it up and take your first picture.

I am particularly impressed with the panoramic feature which enables you to take a series of say 3 pictures, each aligning to the previous picture - so easy! I also love the Macro mode for close-ups - you can easily get a very professional looking result using this - the focal point of the picture is very sharp while the background is slightly out of focus - again, so easy to use.

No doubt I will be using this camera a lot on my forthcoming holiday so I will be able to take pictures of the quality that equal my big SLR but I won't get back-ache carrying this one!!
