You don't need a thousand-dollar cable, this will do just fine -- don't forget we're talking about digital signals here, so a cheap cable will do the same job as an expensive one.

Bought this to capture video from my miniDV camera to my new Macbook Pro which has the 'new' FireWire800 port instead of traditional FireWire. Works great, have rolled the cable up to stuff it into a bag several times and it shows no sign of any wear, connections at either end seem strong and the cable is quite long which is always handy. Great product, can't beat it for the price!

I bought this as an alternative to the charging cable supplied with the HTC Desire, as I felt their cable was too short and stiff. This cable is 6ft long and much more flexible, so I am very pleased with it.
