Average rating of 5/5 Handy to have, great wired shutter control., 2010-07-13
I have had this Controller for awhile now and finding out more about it.
I have a Canon 500D.

This can be used as single press, or continuous shooting (via settings within the menus), or as I have found out that if you use manual settings (M) and put the shutter level down to "BULB" mode with single shot mode on, you can either keep your finger on the button or lock the switch to lock on... the shutters on the lens remain open for as long you require. If you face your camera facing the sky at night in a area without loads of street lighting you can obtain some great photos of star filled skies.

Needed this as I went travelling for a few months and was spending quiet a few days at a time out in the middle of nowhere. Worked very well and definately would not have survived without it. Always keep it with me now to ensure I don't loose out on that moment in time!

Average rating of 5/5 Great quality, 2010-01-29
Having had some VERY bad experiences trying to order discounted Canon photo papers recently through third party sellers, I gave up and paid the full retail amount through Amazon. However even paying their non-discount rate, this 20-sheet box of paper gives you prints at less than 37 pence each.

This paper - PP201 - is sized at 130x180mm, or 5x7". It's a bit bigger than the rather measly standard snapshot size that you'd have at one time got back from a high street film developers. It has a highly glossy finish, and is quite nicely weighted at 260g/m^2. Canon give it a 5 star rating but don't really explain what that means. It is of course fully ChromaLife100 compatible, and the recommendation is that you leave prints to fully dry for 24hrs once printed.

I use the paper with a Canon PIXMA iP4700 colour printer. I ONLY use original Canon inks, and I ONLY use papers for which a compatible ICC profile is available. At the moment for me this means Canon original papers. Ensuring original inks and papers are used means that you print what you see on the screen. Assuming of course that your monitor is properly calibrated - if you have no idea what any of this means or why it is important for photo printing, then read Color Management for Photographers (also reviewed).

For showing off great photos I use Canon's A4 sized Pro II paper, but for printing off snaps for friends and making triptychs, the 5x7" Pro Glossy II is ideal. Very pleased with this product and I certainly won't go cheaper!

Average rating of 5/5 Name brand, so it fits perfectly, 2010-06-09
Why go off brand when Canon caps are so cheap? If only they would follow that strategy with batteries...
