I read other reviews saying you can't add this item to another cable, where have I gone wrong? After connecting mine to a 3 metre lead I work two printers and a HDD at the same time.

Does it matter where it's connected too, mine is connected to an Apple router.

These short USB extension cables are excellent value, 2010-07-16
Having checked other outlets like PC World I looked at Amazon and found these at a fraction of the price. So I bought two. I may get some more for my other PCs. My reason for buying them? It saves scrabbling around the back of the PC to insert USB devices like flash drives. The extension leads are long enough to place any device on a desk near the PC, but not too long so as to get in the way. Highly recommended.

The splitters worked straight out of the bag enabling my home network to increase without the need for more cabling, however, the splitters only work with 10/100 speeds. 1000 GBit connections require all 8 wires and therefore can not be split.
