Light and Sturdy, 2008-09-18 This well made light monopod by Cobra is ideal for digital cameras, if you haven't got the image stabilizer function on your camera, a sturdy platform is a must for taking photos in low light. This monopod fits the bill nicely. The Leg locks work well, nice soft hand grip at the upper part of the leg. This product also has a landscape and portrait tilt head. The only one niggle is the screw to attach your camera is a bit small with no grips, but there is coin slot to tighten.
Overall not a bad product, but if you want to quickly remove your camera from this monopod, best attach a quick release mount.

Fantastic product!, 2007-12-08 Gives you a surprisingly stable platform to shoot pictures from. This monopod is well made, with sturdy tubing and well made quick release latches for each section. The whole thing has a very professional feel. I use it with a digital SLR equipped with a mid sized telephoto lens, but it would do just as well with a longer lens or even a video camera. Monopods can be really useful in situations where a tripod is impractical but where you could do with some extra support. I use it for sporting events and it really helps to maintain stability when panning. I'm about 5' 10" tall and I don't use it fully extended, but there's not a lot of height left. I'm guessing, but I would imagine that anybody above 6' 2" would feel more comfortable using it with a head to extend the height.

A 5-section monopod ideal for travelling or for where floor space is limited.
The essential accessory , 2007-11-14 No matter how basic your camera, this wonderful device will improve your technique 100%. Forget fancy image stabilization this beats it hands down.
Even if you can only start to appreciate how infinitely superior available light is to flash, you will absolutely love this thing. It's beautifully made and the adjustable head lets you take pictures in landscape or portrait mode. The only downside is that you'll spend the next six months telling your pals where they can get one.

Best Lightweight Monopod, 2007-11-28 I spent a lot of time finding something small enough to carry everywhere, tall enough to use in comfort for long periods and strong enough to survive my handling. This was even better than I expected. I added a Manfrotto 234 head as I need to be able to pan the camera at speed and keep it lined up on fast moving wildlife. A number of monopods are stronger but are generally far bigger and heavier and I have seen no sign of it not coping with the weight of my cameras and lenses.

P Mac, 2007-12-29 If you need a monopod, & you will if useing a long len's to stop the dreaded camera shake, this is ( for the price ) exellent.
Although it is alloy is is sturdy, light, & small enough to attach to your camera bag.
The small cap, on top of the screw which attaches to your camera, is bound to get lost but a dust cap of a car tyre ( if small ) fit's as well.

Four section monopod featuring sure rubber grip wrist carrying strap quick action lever leg lock system with 45 flip large 2.3" camera/head platform with plastic cover and dual 1/4-20" - 3/8" camera screw.(Replaces the 3249 monopod) SPECIFICATIONS Material: Silver Aluminum Still Photography: Yes Maximum Height: 154 cm (60.6 inches) Minimum Height: 51 cm (20 inches) Leg Sections: 4 Foot Type: Rubber Maximum Load Capacity: 22 Ibs Weight: 0.8 kg (1.8 lbs)
Sturdy yet highly manuverable, 2007-06-22 I like this Monopod a great deal; the clips are sturdy, hold well, and yet are not too much of a struggle to unclip - they can be adjusted with the tool provided. The weight of the monopod means that with care, it's possible to get a steady image even at quite low light levels, and I've even been able to use this successfully at night, which I haven't been able to do with light-weight, flimsier monopods.
I teamed this with the quick release head, and am glad I did so; the benefits of using a monopod over a tripod are the maneuverability and portability, so having to screw in and unscrew the camera each use could be tedious, and would certainly negate some of those benefits.
The monopod isn't small, and won't fit into the average camera bag; I find it's not too heavy to carry round all day, and as mentioned the weight helps even out some camera-shake, but if weight and size is an issue, this may not be the model monopod for you. As a side benefit however, I must admit that the size and weight makes me feel much happier about carrying my camera around strange cities, and it has been nicknamed 'The Shillelagh'!
