This product is excellent. I've now bought a number of photographic items from Photosel and they keep going up in my estimation. I bought this backdrop on the strength of the PhotoSEL Chroma Key Green Screen, which I have found to be excellent for my purposes (also reviewed).

The backdrop is very well made; it is hemmed all the way around, with a rod pocket along the top edge so it can be slid onto a support stand. You can even use net curtain wires to hold this up, or drape it over an existing curtain rail. The backdrop is very long, which is excellent since it gives you a 'train' which allows you to capture an entire person, feet included! Any photo editor will allow you to fill in areas of a frame using a variety of methods, so it's not even necessary for the backdrop to fill the frame - as long as you have coverage of the subject. When it arrives the backdrop has been folded a number of times and it will benefit from a wash on a cool cycle followed by a really good ironing session! I iron mine on one side and photo from the other, just in case the iron leaves tracks or creates shiny areas.

The colour consistency across this massive screen is excellent. The black is very dark; it's only when there is a light source behind it that you realise light can actually come through. It's so big however that you can easily double it over.

All in all, highly recommended!

Folding a reflector or background, 2010-07-17
I've just bought a PhotoSel Collapsible Background Disc and Train. I opened it to see if the product was OK and have not had the chance to try it out as yet, so cannot comment on it's practical use. What I did find as the only other reviewer discovered, was the absence of any folding instructions. What followed can only be described as a protracted 'comedy moment', with my wife being amused at my efforts to return the disc to it's case. I tried what I thought was every possible way to fold this large item and finally gave up, exhausted and perspiring, not to say frustrated. Out of desperation I Googled 'how to fold a reflector' without success, then tried Youtube and a similar search. Immediately a result came up, with an American guy called Mario who demonstrated a technique with a similar product. Success in seconds and highly recommended. It couldn't be simpler or as 'they' say, 'it's easy when you know how'. Mario is the man. Snappy bit of kit, 2010-02-09
As I only intend to do the occasional bit of portrait photography I was after a backdrop support that was relatively inexpensive, but at the same time reasonably robust. Other systems I'd looked at tended to be a bit pricy so I was pleasantly surprised when unpacking PhotoSEL's version. Feel I made the right choice and find the support tripods very easy to set up with their quick release levers along with the three cross poles which can be quickly connected for either 2m or 3m wide backgrounds.

The screen is very long, which is excellent since it gives you a 'train' which allows you to key an entire person, feet included! Most video editors these days have either masks or 'cookie cutters', so it's not even necessary for the green screen to fill the frame - as long as you have coverage of the actor. When it arrives the screen has been folded a number of times and it will benefit from a wash on a cool cycle followed by a really good ironing session!

The colour consistency across this massive screen is excellent. The green is very strong and easy to key out, and both After Effects and Sony Vegas make a great job of it even with shadows and inconsistent lighting. I have had great results under some trying conditions, so I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out with proper lighting!

Great CSO screen at amazing price!, 2010-07-26
It's a shame people are criticising this screen because they are unable to refold it - just put 'how to fold Lastolite' into YouTube!! It works in exactly the same way all the Lastolite-type systems do and is just the right size to be big enough to be useful as a backdrop while still being small enough to be easy to fold.
I've used this screen on several shoots now and it's worked perfectly every time. It's very well made, has a good bright colour and even a good bag! It paid for itself in the first few days I owned it.
The only reason I can't in all honesty give it five stars is because the material is just a little thin and you have to watch it doesn't get back-lit in patches by accident.
Having said that, for the price, it is amazing value.
