Interesting..., 2010-06-16 Can't really tell if these filters actually make any difference to the quality of the picture taken, but function perfectly to protect your prized lenses from becoming accidently scratched.
Bought a couple of these for my Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS & EF-S 55-25omm lenses.
I keep them permanently on the lens.
Not too expensive, when you compare it to the price of the lenses themselves.

Normal protection filter, 2010-07-07 Can't really fault it.
does what it says...
good build quality as you'd expect from Tiffen.
if you paid few hundred quid for a lens, you definitely must get one of these to protect the front element from day-to-day dirt, humidity and erosion.

great set of filters for the price, 2010-07-25 you get a polarizer, FLD filter (pointless in the digital era), +1, +2, +4, +10, and UV filter. For this price the set is amazing. nice cases. fits my EF-S 50mm f1.8 just fine. beware you need really small apertures with the macro filters to get sharp pictures, and i suspect they're nowhere near as sharp as a proper macro lens, but then that is to be expected. overall very happy. they also each have another screw thread so you can add filters on top of each other. polariser seems to have a nice smooth rotatory action, though haven't actually shot through it yet.

Hoya Pro1 Digital 72mm UV Filter (Pro1D Multi-Coated)
Good protection, 2010-06-28 This filter is good for everyday protection of the lens front element from scratch dust etc. Although, having it will not make any noticeable difference in photograph, I noticed a negligible difference between the expensive digital and cheaper non-digital version. I normally use a digital polariser instead a UV filter all the time. When photographing under low light I take off the polariser and put the UV filter on.

58mm filters..., 2010-07-23 I recieved the lenses a day or two after purchase, which really can't be faulted.
Lenses come in fairly robust cases, so they're easy to carry around without the worry of them being damaged.
Tried them all out on my Canon EOS 1000D with an 18-55mm EFS lens, and they're all great and fit on the thread fine. When I use the macro filters, it's easier to focus on the subject in Manual Focus mode, as the lens struggles a bit.
Also, I'd advise giving them a quick clean with glass cleaner and a soft cloth, as I found a few dirty marks on all the filters. But apart from that, it's a really good kit to have!

Absorbiert die ultravioletten Strahlen, die oftmals Außenaufnahmen neblig und undeutlich erscheinen lassen.
Hoya 52mm Pro-1 UV Filter, 2010-07-06 I am no stranger to Hoya Pro series filters and have always been delighted with them.......This one is no exception. A++++++++++++++++

- Professional 3pc Optical Lens Filter Kit: Glass UV Filter; Glass Circular Polarizer Filter; Glass FLD Fluorescent Filter
Multi-coated filters dramatically reduce any chance of flare, and keep the filter clean to minimize any reduction in image quality
- Suitable for optical lens of 46mm diameter with front mounting thread (for lens/filters to screw on)
- UV filter is mainly used to protect the front element of a camera lens and reduce haze and improve contrast by minimizing the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light
- Circular Polarizing Filter (polarizer) is very important for landscape photography by reducing the contrast between land and sky (sky appears deeper blue) and reducing glare and reflections off of water and other surfaces
- FLD Fluorescent Filter can be used to correct the greenish tone that appears when fluorescent lighting is present
- The Zeikos 46mm filter kit is compatible with Panasonic DMC-FZ38, FZ28, FZ18 digital cameras. Pls switch on your camera before trying to attach the filter
digital lens accessories, 2010-07-27 really good value for this money . I'm not a professional photographer , so i don't wanna spent a fortune for filters or other accessories . this is what i want !
