 A great budget camcorder!, 2003-09-10
If you're looking to buy a simple to use miniDV digital camcorder that won't break the bank, then you could do a lot worse than this.
It comes with almost everything you'll need so you won't end up forking out for extra things like a long-life lithium-ion battery.
The 800k pixel CCD means the picture quality is very good, and the LCD screen is adequate.
The camcorder itself is easy to use, and can be operated at the push of just one button, although more technical users could make use of the manual focus and extra sound settings.
There is a port for an external microphone, and a setting that removes the interference from wind noise.
The only thing you may have to buy is a firewire card if you wanted to download your movies to the PC, but these are cheap, and easy to install.
I'm very happy with it, and would recommend it to anybody thinking about entering the world of camcorders.
