Fantastic camera, 2009-01-04
Santa spoilt me this year and left the Sony Handycam DCR-SR35E under the tree and what a brilliant pressie it is!

The camera is INCREDIBLY easy to use - I was filming 5 seconds after opening the box!! The functions are all pretty standard, two that I've tried so far worked particularly well; Spotlight mode and the Extended Mic (I was filming a pantomime from Row Y of a large theatre...picture and audio quality were fab).

Exporting the images/videos couldn't be easier, you've the option to transfer to either your PC/Laptop, a memory stick (via the Pro Duo) or directly to DVD.

The supplied software includes a browser which allows you to watch and edit your work as well as save in different formats.

Overall, I am a very satisfied customer!

Great camera, but NOT HD, 2008-11-24
This is a fantastic little camcorder, good audio and video quality, ridiculously easy to use. But it is listed as a HD camcorder, which it isn't.

my opinion, 2009-01-07
This camcorder is one of the simplest out there, i enjoyed using it as you get told what to do as you sign on. The zoom is fun to use, and the sound amazed me as it was rather loud other than most camcorders. I really like this product and as it is small it fits in my pocket most of the time. I take it almost everywhere just incase i need a picture or video of an event. On the whole i enjoy using this camera even with my friends, and cant understand why anyone would hate it.

Great little Camera, 2008-12-31
I got this camera for a great price from Amazon,and i'm really pleased with it. The camera is really neat and comfortable to hold and it takes great HD footage, i've been watching the footage played back on an LG 3000 22" HD ready TV and the pictures are excellent. Rich colours and sharp detail,there's a world of difference between this camera's HD footage and standard camcorder footage.I bought the Aiptek to replace a Panasonic SDR-S7 which i just wasn't happy with. Recordings on the Panasonic suffer badly from very poor resolution on playback even on the highest quality DVD setting, any shots in to the distance with the Panny were totally lacking in detail and just became somewhat blurred,the Panasonic was a big let down. So i decided to try the Aiptek AHD 200 after reading favourable reviews, and i have to agree for the price it's a cracking camera,ok it's lacking an optical zoom and any image stabilisation, but at the end of the day i've never used the zoom much on any camera i've owned so it's not a problem. It's the playback quality of the images that count to me and the Aipteks are excellent, i like this camera a lot, one reviewer said he hadn't been able to put the camera down since he got it, and i'm the same. Highly recommended,a great little camera.

Super starter camcorder/camera combo, 2009-01-03
I have wanted a camcorder for years but they've always seemed too expensive and bulky. This Toshiba PRO HD camcorder is the business being so simple to use with quality features. The supplied battery worked straight away, so you can get going rapidly. I thought the picture and sound quality were very impressive however the volume is automated so you can't manually alter it (which is a small problem for me being partially deaf). There is a faint background hiss during your videos, however this means it picks up sound extremely well. I bought it with a 8GB class 6 memory card and a joby gorilla pod and they all work together brilliantly. It's light, compact and the front illuminating lights are so bright it could double as a torch on holiday...perhaps. The adapter is european 2 pin so you would need a travel adapter. The easy alternative was to use the USB connection wire to charge up the battery to the max on the computer...it took 3-4 hours. For me it was the winner in the tussle between the flip camcorder because you can record over an hour with the decent memory card.

Amazing Quality, 2008-07-10
The camcorder itself is amazing in quality and great for editing, if you do that kind of a thing. Now all I need is a High Definition TV.

Having taken still pictures on the camcorder too, the quality is really really good.

The 60GB hard drive is ample unless you need hours and hours of footage, (I think it's limit is 15 hours on 60GB). It may be an idea to get a separate SD card to separate the still images from the video footage on the harddrive or worth getting in case your hard drive becomes full before you've had the chance to transfer it onto your home computer.

The 10x optical zoom could have been better and although the 700x digital is a brilliant gimmick to impress the friends and family, you'll obviously lose a lot of quality when zooming into far away objects.

The only downside for me so far is that there is no Apple Mac software, althouh you can import it into iMovie / Final Cut Pro, if you want some decent software to do the editing on a Apple Mac, you'll have to go out and buy the software separately.

I'm most certain you'll be impressed with the quality, in fact I'm using the camcorder a lot more than I used to simply cos it's brilliant quality and easy to use. Enjoy..

Oh it's definitely worth paying the extra from the Panasonic model below this one to get the 60GB hard drive.

What an amazing little gadget! The picture and sound quality are exceptional considering the price tag and it's so easy to use that even my slightly techno-phobe husband could take footage. I'm having a little trouble emailing videos but I'm hoping that will iron itself out in time. I'd recommend buying a USB cable as I felt that using the integral USB arm is a bit precarious. I'm still giving the Flip 5 stars though, as I love it and and am so glad I bought it to preserve memories of my baby daughter. :-)

Very very simple to use. Extremely simple to record up to one hour of video and also super simple to upload it to any website (utube or similar)
I received this as a Christmas present and class it as essential to have it with me at all times already. It is small and unobtrusively fits into a pocket or handbag makeing it easy to transport. Being about the size and weight of a mobile phone taking it along is no problem to me.

Basically this little beauty for sony is amazing! It is the top end consumer product, with just about every feature you can think of. The fantastic HD video quality in my opinion is maybe the best quality of any HD handycam on the market (Well it is a Sony of course)

I've bought the wide conversion lens, bigger battery and zoom mic to make this thing my very own professional video camera shooting some great footage. Transferring video is easy on imovie on my macbook. What you waiting for? Buy it as I am very VERY pleased with mine!!
