This JJC MF-1 Mini Flash Stand works with Shoe Mounted Flash and all other photography equipment with an ISO 518 hot shoe. Having a built-in 1/4" brass socket, it can be easily installed on standard studio light stand.
Please note it does not work with Minolta or Sony flash systems as they do not use a ISO 518 hot shoe interface.

- New Canon 580EX II Speedlite (boxed with case, English user manual, stand)
- UK dealer's 14 months warranty
- In stock and ready for posting for your receipt in 1 to 2 working days (UK buyer)
Canon 580EX II Speedlite Flash Unit, 2008-11-14 This is a fantastic piece of equipment. I tell you now, if you can afford one then get it! Regardless of what you take photos of, you can use this to further your photography and take it to new levels. I am an am' wedding photographer, with this flash you can just switch it to E-TTL and bounce 'till your hearts content. I have not explored all the features, but the wide angle diffuser is really handy with my 10-20mm Sigma. I'm not entirely sure about the catchlight panel, but you can throw a little light directly forward with bounce at the same time which really adds another tool to your belt.

- Weight: 105g (3.7oz.) approx.
- Compatible with: Canon E-TTL, E-TTL II Flash System, Nikon i-TTL Flash System, Pentax P-TTL Flash System, Fujifilm Finepix SLR Cameras & Samsung SLR Cameras
Better than Canon 0C-E3?, 2008-12-04 Bought this as opposed to the Canon product as it has a switch on the hot shoe part so you can have the extention flash or the on-camera flash working, but not both together! Must say I am immpressed with the quality.
I use this with a slave flash on remote and the set up is very versatile.

Memory lane, 2007-07-09 I bought this for my dad to view all his old slides, but I've used it more than he has. Take my advice. Get up the loft and dig out all those old slides. You'll be amazed what you'll find. Then you need to buy a decent transparency scanner. This was meant to be a cheap purchase, the price seems higher now - expensive for what it is, so get a cheaper version.

I have a Samsung GX-20 ..., 2008-10-24 ... and needed a compatible flashgun.
This unit integrates excellently with the GX camera (mind you, it damn well SHOULD - being designed for the GX series and from the same manufacturer!) and has so far produced crisp, evenly lit, well exposed results.
The only gripe is that the "wide angle" setting of the flash head doesn't seem to QUITE cover the angle of view at the wide end of my 18-250mm Tamron lens, and in theory it should cover down to a 16mm. There is an obvious "darkening at the corners" with focal lengths right at that extreme.
Hmmm - perhaps a shame, but in reality not a problem that's likely to disadvantage the photographer much. How often do you do serious flash photography at the extreme wide angle end of the zoom range? And if you do a touch of diffusion resolves the problem anyway.
A good bit of kit.

New Speedlight SB-800 with wireless i-TTL flash control evolves the technology beyond the D-TTL of the D1 series. It introduces features that include Advanced Wireless Lighting (wireless remote control over multiple flashes), Flash Value Lock (FV Lock), AUTO FP High-Speed Sync and Flash Color Information Communication. It also features the new Wide Area AF Assist Illuminator that is tailored to the new D2H's 11-area Multi-CAM 2000 AF Sensor Module. Additional features include a built-in wide flash adapter for 14mm wideangle lens coverage, GN 38/53 (ISO 100/200, at 35mm) and flash coverage from 24mm up to 105mm when using the Auto Zoom function (in 5mm zoom steps between 35 and 105mm).
For Nikon D50, D70, D70s, D100, D200, D2H, D2X and D1X SLR and Coolpix 8400 and 8800 cameras.
Fantastic!, 2008-06-02
This Nikon SB-800 Speedlight was purchased to be used with a D300 D-SLR.
Although not the most powerful flashgun available on the market it's however, powerful enough and extremely well built and it's manual is very comprehensive and I'm still digesting all of it's content.
As with all of today's camera/flashgun manufacturers, whose products work effortlessly together, Nikon products are no exception. You get various auto modes such as I-TTL, AA etc. depending on your camera type, together with full manual mode when desired. It comes with a case, stand, soft light diffuser, gel kit and the extra battery attachment so a fifth battery can be use which reduces it's recharge time but strangely, no batteries. I'm currently using five rechargeable 1300mAh Ni-MH AA batteries with no issue whatsoever, although as yet I haven't tried my 2700mAh batteries in it. Some people seem to have problems with the higher capacity Ni-MH batteries in various flashguns.
It can be attached directly to the camera's accessory/hot shoe with the light bounced off a wall or ceiling. It can be also be used remotely when set as a slave unit and triggered by the optional SU-800 commander or another SB-800 set as the master. It's so versatile that it can be triggered optically by the D300's built-in flashgun (or any other third party camera/flashgun combination including compact cameras with a built-in flash - I've tried this out with my Olympus Mju 1030 SW so I know that it works!). This can provide extra valuable direct or bounced light from an umbrella or wall etc..
There's the usual multi-channel facility to prevent interference from other Nikon camera/flashgun combo's setting off your equipment in error.
I'm finding the menu system fairly easy to use (with manual in hand to keep me right, LOL) but I've still got a lot of ground to cover and when I can afford more flashguns I'll be working on Nikon's Creative Light System thingy!
All in all an excellent addition to my photographic equipment and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
