# Great picture quality in HD and very good at 720P60FPS
# Still photo quality quite reasonable
Negatives:
# Hi res videos can still appear a bit jerky and you will need the right computer set up to make them run well
# HD files are very large and only work well if played back on a TV by HDMI
# No integral stereo mic. However the Sony ECM-DS70Pcan be had for very little money on eBay
# Zoom not very powerful
# Limited settings
You will need software like DVD Flick to archive your videos onto DVD
Quite impressed and certainly a lot easier than lugging around a convential compact camcorder.
Zi8 - Brilliant for my first Pocket Cam, 2010-07-25
It just does what it says on the box. Set it up, switch it on, and away you go. I'm not techy with anything and this is so easy to use.
Just used it to record some of the Earth Wind and Fire concert at the NIA, and I've got it playing now on the Laptop. I was a about 100 feet away from the stage. The zoom could have been a bit better but, wow, I've have my guys on film, my own film.
When I use it again for a concert, I would definitely use a stereo mike, as the built in one is in mono and obviously the sound isn't how I remember it from the night.
My recordings at home are pefect, so clear, the colours are amazing.
I can't wait to use this on my holiday to Canada later this year.

Such a good video camera and not very expensive. Fits perfectly in a small handbag ready for when you need it. Very easy to use :just aim and you'll have great videos to watch later or pass on to YouTube to share with friends.
Kodak Zi8, 2010-07-19
Bought this camera as a wedding gift and it went down an absolute treat. Used the camera myself and realised how good it actually is. The quality is outstanding and extremely user friendly. Very happy with my purchase!
Brilliant little camera - knocks the spots of Flip, 2010-07-23
I tried a Flip camera last year after seeing loads of YouTubers using them. I was really disappointed with it. The recordings were below par and very choppy. I really hesitated before trying again with another pocket camera. The Kodak Zi8 is extremely easy to use and takes excellent footage. The 720p(60fps) feature is brilliant. I could not be more happy with it. Definetly get yourself a little tripod though.Joby Gorillapod Original - Black
