Product Description
This lens hood is a low cost quality alternative to the Canon original ES-62 lens hood. It is a must for every D-SLR photo enthusiast. A lens hood is primarily designed to avoid unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The bayonet connection makes attaching the lens hood to your lens very simple. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Mine just stays on the lens but will keep twisting for ever from slack to tightish then slack again. It's not up to the standard of the genuine Canon article but is barely adequate if pennies are tight.

Having read the reviews from previous buyers, I sort of knew what to expect when this item arrived - and I wasn't surprised! What can I say - it does the job fine and it's no doubt a lot cheaper than Canon's own equivalent. I would say, if you don't mind the light plasticky feel and cheapness - buy it 'cos it works and the price is great.

...it's black and round and fits the lens without bother. Does just what you want it to do. So it does not say Canon on it but that's not why you'd want it would you. The plastic is matt textured which is good for not keeping finger marks and also provides a slight grip when securing/removal. Good price when compared to the true ES-62, but the reality is this is just a bit of plastic (needed).
