These Binoculars far exceeded my expectations. For the money they cannot be beaten. A friend of mine has a panoramic countryside view from his lounge window so I took them there for a test run. Having used some 12x50 binoculars in the past I was amazed at the difference in magnification and clarity of the Celestron UpClose pair. Well worth the money,highly recommended.

When they arrived I was shocked at the size they are pretty big but not too heavy, I wasn't too sure about them at first but I took them with me to India, and used them on a safari in a National Park in Ranthambore, and that's when I realised how fantastic they are!! I could see animals, a long distance away, really close up through these binoculars and I could see details such as eye colour on owls and birds. Then we spotted a tiger which was an exciting moment, these binoculars were amazing in bringing the tiger even closer and being able to see the little details on the animal really clearly. All in all I'm very very happy with them and they are good value for money. I'm marking 4 instead of 5 star only because of the size of the binoculars I would have preferred them to be a little smaller!
Cheap but not nasty, 2010-05-08
I decided to purchase these as I am a student on a budget.
The first thing you will notice is that they are big so naturally they are heavy which means that if you are holding them for a long time then your arms will feel fatigued (time to use my weights again!). However they feel well made, rugged, and feel nice to hold.
They come with a celestron branded bag which is a little on the flimsy side so you may wish to upgrade this. However the bins do fit snugly inside it.
The image through the bins is clear and sharp, but close objects will be blurry.
The central focus wheel does not have much turn to it so you may think it's broken at first because of this seemingly limited travel. However you will find it's ample when focusing on the ranges it prefers. Some customers may find the central wheel a little stiff but it does ease up with use.
The right eye piece has a diopter adjustment that allows you to compensate for differences between your eyes and this has a much smoother feel.
There is no eye relief so unfortunately if you wear glasses then you have to avoid this product.
You will need relatively steady hands to keep the picture where you want it because of the 20x zoom, but this is to be expected so you may prefer to get a tripod as there is an adapter for this.
Although there is a 10 year, no fault guarantee you do have to pay £10 for p&p so it's probably not worth if something does go wrong. However, it does add confidence to the product.
Overall I would say that these are a great buy for their price for bird watching or for getting more detail on distant scenery.
My only problem is that I was supplied a broken lens cover.

These are ok for the money but you would be far better off paying the extra for a real pair!!!

This product is very good for long distance, heavy enough to keep control of when viewing but not to heavy to make your arms ache, lenses are clear and the focus is easy to manage. For the price you cant go wrong.
