 Remove 2 small lenses in this extender to fix small viewfinder problem, 2010-01-13
As i wear glasses i was in need for this extender to make things a bit more comfortable. But was not impressed with the 0.7x magnification it gives, making the viewfinder smaller. But opening up the device with 2 small screws and removing the 2 plastic lenses has fixed this. It now works perfectly, extending the eyepiece without messing up the image. Simples!

Does what it says on the can. Makes the viewfinder image look a bit more distant thanks to a small lens in it, but overall, it's good enough.

Definately something you need to get for any compatible Canon EOS D/SLR camera.
Moves your nose far enough from the cameras lcd screen to stop it from constantly getting smudges on.
Unlike some reviewers who have complained that the image through the viewfinder becomes blurred, I have not found this to be a real problem. The Canon EOS cameras have a focusing ring on the side of the view finder window that allows you to make sufficient adjusment to it.

Not the cheapest piece of plastic you'll ever buy, but if you wear glasses, or simply have a big nose (I have both lol) then its a great wee item. Franky I think I would use it even without glasses as it makes use of the camera more comfortable.
Very easy to fit too, just pull the standardard rubber bit off, put this on, then replace the rubber. Done!

Worth every penny! I have a Canon EOS 500D & every time I used the eyepiece my nose (& it doesn't protrude a lot from my face - o.k. 3.5cm to be precise) pressed against the LCD making it awkward to get a comfortable shot. To change the eyepiece, all you do is slide the old one off & the extender on. It has made a lot of difference to my comfort even if I'm wearing glasses or sunglasses. It's a pity Canon don't fit this as standard.
