I bought these after my old trusty Wharfdale headphones got damaged beyond repair. ..on the plus side, they are very comfortable. The ear-pieces are well cushioned and they're not massive, so they sit comfortably inside the circumference of the ear, rather than totally covering it. The sound however, lets them down. ..the treble and midrange are fine, but the bass response is awful. I use my headphones to listen to the television late at night, and for that purpose they are adequate, ...but for listening to music? No. They're well below par. Especially considering that they carry the Sony name.
Should you buy these? Well, if you want a very comfortable set of headphones for basic use, you could do worse. But in all honesty, if I could have sampled these headphones before buying them, I would have spend my money elsewhere.
Reliable basic headphones., 2010-06-14
I bought a pair of these about ten years ago, and have used them over that period at my desk at work. The mount of one of the earpieces finally broke, so I purchased another pair. I'm not particularly an audiophile, but the sound quality is fine as far as I'm concerned, and they're comfortable for extended use. Great basic headphones for the price.

i really like these headphones! They are a bit of a bargain! However this is my second pair as the small piece which keeps the ear bit in place broke off on my last ones, that said it think i am to blame for that one!

I have used many different headphones but no pair of headphones have ever came close to the exceptional quality of the Sony MDR-V150's. I purchased these headphones a few days ago and they arrived at my home this morning and since then I have been amazed. One of the many pairs of headphones I have used would be the: [Bose Quiet Comfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones] and those headphones aren't as good as the Sony's in terms of overall audio quality however the Sony's do lack noise cancellation which would be nice. However with these headphones on and music playing I can't hear a thing including myself singing along (loudly).

Ibought theese as the pc is in close location to our tv, and we have volume wars! Since i have been using theese, the volume buton on the tv stays where it is, and i can listen to wwhat i want on the pc as i feel fit. A good quality item at a price that cant be missed. even the kids are happy!
